Our Beliefs

We believe that Jesus is inviting all people to discover who He is, put their faith in Him and learn to follow Him. We recognize that the process of getting to know Jesus is a journey that often has ups and downs and lots of questions. Having travelling companions who are also on that journey can be very helpful.

Although the process of engaging with Jesus looks different in each of our lives, as we begin to follow Him change is inevitable. We find ourselves experiencing transformation:

  • from ignorance of God to a personal relationship with God

  • from bondage of sin and past mistakes to freedom, forgiveness, and healing

  • from individualism to interdependence with others in the local church

  • from lifestyle choices that harm us, others, and the earth to choices that nurture wholeness, healing, joy, and peace

  • from hating enemies and ignoring neighbours to showing love and justice to all

  • from loving possessions to sharing with all in need

  • from aimless existence to a mission of representing and proclaiming God’s kingdom on earth

The Gathering is an expression of the Mennonite Brethren Church of Canada (MB). We are guided by a Confession of Faith that represents our shared convictions about what we believe the Bible teaches. While we live those convictions imperfectly, our Confession serves as an aspirational guide for our teaching and how we live.
